12 years old girl S. S. G. (Patient Identification Number - 15127) visited our clinic on 23rd November, 2010 with her parents.
She had been suffering from Lichen Planus since one year. It had spread rapidly in the last 4 – 5 months. She had moderate Lichen Planus affections on her legs, hands, abdomen, and neck. She had severe itching which would cause bleeding upon scratching. She had been applying plenty of steroid based and immunosuppressant creams. This had caused her lesions to subside to a certain extent.
Her appetite was average. She had a liking for spicy food and dislike for milk. She could not tolerate warm weather. Her sleep, bowels, thirst, was all normal.
She stayed in a nuclear family with her parents and brother. Her father was a businessman, while her mother was a home maker.
She was an obstinate child. She would easily get irritated. She was extrovert and would easily mix with others.
Her father had some skin problem 6 – 7 years ago. Her grandmother had diabetes.
Her case details were studied in detail by Dr. Shah. She was prescribed Thuja Occidentalis 30c and Calcarea Carbonica 30c along with some research based medicines.
After 4 months of medication, she reported personally on 3 March 2011. Her Lichen Planus was better. The leg lesions had increased as she had abruptly stopped the application of her conventional creams. The LP on the abdomen was better. The itching had not show much improvement. Her prescription was upgraded by Dr. Shah.
After another 6 months of treatment on 10 September 2011, she was better by 50%. The lesions on the hands and the abdomen had healed by 80%. There were hyperpigmented spots on the legs. The itching had reduced considerably. Her prescription was accordingly modulated by Dr. Shah. She was given Natrum Muraticum 200c and Thuja Occidentalis 1m single dose along with research based medicines.
After 1.5 years treatment, on 3 July 2012, she reported with almost 80% improvement. There was no spread or appearance on any new spot. The hypertrophic spots had flattened by 70%. The itching was almost nil.
Her parents are very happy with the treatment. She has been advised to continue the treatment for another couple of months to attain complete recovery.
