N. M. K. (PIN NO – 17604) was accompanied by her parents to our clinic. She visited on 27th November 2011 for frequent cold and chronic constipation.
She had been suffering from recurrent cold since 1.5 years. She had running nose, dry cough and fever once in a month. The frequency would be once in a month and last for 5 – 6 days. It would be severe and they would resort to antibiotics for treatment. It had become a routine for her to take a course of antibiotics once in a month since last 1 year. Her mother had recurrent tonsillitis in her childhood.
She also complained of hard ball like stools with decreased appetite. She had been bottle fed since birth. She had been taking protein powder since last 2 months.
Her appetite and thirst were decreased. She was intolerant to cold weather. She was lean and thin in physical appearance.
She was attending a play group nursery. Her father was an estate agent, while her mother was a home maker. It was a nuclear family setup.
She was a active and reserved child. She liked to play alone. She would not mix easily with children of her age.
All her family members were apparently healthy except her maternal grandmother, who was suffering from diabetes, hypothyroidism and increased cholesterol.
She was prescribed a research based medicine by Dr. Shah after a detailed case analysis.
After 6 weeks (10.1.12) – she reported with considerable improvement in her frequent attacks of cold. She had developed 2 – 3 minor episodes of cold which were well managed with homeopathic medicines. She did not require antibiotics. Her constipation was also better. There was not much improvement in her appetite. Her prescription was upgraded and medicines prescribed were Silicea 30c and research based medicines.
After another 6 weeks (5.3.12) – she reported with not much improvement. Her cold was almost constant daily. She did not take any antibiotics but had to be nebulised for the nose blockage. Her constipation was much better. Her case was reviewed and prescription upgraded to Silicea 200c and research based medicines.
After further 2 months medication (2.5.12) – there was significant improvement of around 75% in frequent colds. Her constipation was further better. She had gained 2 kilograms weight since the start of treatment.
She is continuing the medicines to get completely relieved of the complaints. Her parents are happy with the outcome of 6 months of Dr. Shah’s treatment.
Homeopathy acts in two ways. To increase the immunity and to reduce the allergic tendencies( hypersensitivities). This child had allergic colds and cough and due to low immunity, she would get supper-added infections with fever requiring antibiotics. Due to frequent infections, and fever, she was not gaining weight. Homeopathy proved immuno-corrective for her. She got good relief and she was back on her growth track. This is the power of well selected Homeopathy under an expert.
