Case Study:
A 32-year-old lady (PIN: 37341) approached Life Force on 8th July 2018 for the treatment of her complaints of oral lichen planus that she was suffering from for 2 months.
Her main presenting symptoms were white lacy lesions inside the cheeks. The patient also had white spots on her tongue. She had mild itching on the affected areas and a burning sensation while having spicy food.
Her history of aliments and treatment history was asked about in detail and updated. The patient was not under any allopathic treatment for her lichen planus. Her family history of aliments was asked and updated to rule out any autoimmune history from the family. The patient had no family history of an autoimmune disease.
A detailed case taking was done considering both her mental and physical generals.
Physical Generals:
She had an average appetite, with no specific cravings as such. Her thirst was average; she drank 2-3 liters of water daily. She had average perspiration. She was not tolerant of the cold weather and often used to get cold and cough due to the weather changes. Her motion and urine were satisfactory. Her menstrual history was also asked about and updated.
Psychological Make-Up:
Her mental generals were also asked and updated. Her only stress was regarding the disease that she was suffering from. Besides this, she had no other stress or tension.
Her physical and systemic examination was done and her weight and BP were checked and updated in the case file.
The entire case file was checked and after analyzing the case history medicines were prescribed by Dr. Shah.
Follow-Ups:
At the first follow-up on 31st August 2018, the patient was better by 10%. The lesions had stopped spreading. However, the burning pain while eating spicy food persisted. In the further follow-ups, the patient was experiencing further improvement.
By 6th August 2019, the patient was better by almost 90%. The lesions had fully cleared. Also, the burning pain while eating spicy food had reduced drastically.
