A 64-year-old male from Mumbai, Mr. B.M (PIN: 26838) visited Life Force Kemp’s Corner clinic in the month of September 2015 for the treatment of his Asthma.  

He was suffering from Asthma for the past 6 years, but his complaints aggravated over the past few months. He was suffering from breathlessness episodes every day for the past few days. The episodes used to last for 15 to 20 minutes. During the episode, the patient was getting a dry cough and experiencing breathing difficulty. Also, he used to experience excessive perspiration during the episode. On examination of his chest, the wheezing sound was heard. His discomfort used to get aggravated in the morning. Dust and smoke also aggravated his problem. He had to take conventional medicines and inhalers almost every day.  

He had an average appetite. He had no specific desires for food and drinks. His thirst was average. His sleep was almost normal and refreshing.  

He lived with his wife and a 15 years old son. His son was studying in school. He was financially poor and had stress related to it. He was introverted by nature. He often used to get anxious regarding his problem. His nature was mild and gentle. 

He never had any other major illnesses in the past. His father suffered from Asthma. 

After studying the case in detail, Dr. Shah prescribed him some research-based homeopathic medicines. 

Follow-Ups:
On 5th January 2016, the patient reported that he was almost 30% better with the relief from his asthma problem. The frequency of his episodes had reduced than before. His cough and breathing difficulty had reduced in the past few months, but, since a few days, his cough had increased a little due to the seasonal change. He was overall better with the medicine. He had reduced the dose of conventional medicines and inhalers also.  

On 26th July 2016, the patient updated that he was almost 50% better with the medicines. His cough and breathing difficulty had reduced than before. The frequency of his asthma episodes was very less. The intensity of the disease had also reduced. He was able to do his day-to-day activity normally now. 

On 9th May 2017, the patient reported he was almost 80% better now.  There was a mild increase in his cough over the past 15 days, but, overall, he was better. He was no more experiencing breathlessness. He had stopped taking conventional medicines and using inhalers in the past few months. He was feeling overall better with the medicines. 

On 16th February 2018, the patient reported that he was 90% better. There were no episodes of Asthma bothering him. Occasionally, he used to get a cough but its intensity was less than before. There was no breathing difficulty present. The chest was clear on examination. The patient had stopped all the conventional medicines and he was purely on homeopathy now.

Conclusion:
This case illustrates that homeopathy is highly effective in treating chronic asthma incredibly and safely without any side effects.
