A 44-years-old woman, Mrs. A. C. (PIN 15957) visited Life Force Homeopathy Chembur clinic on 17th May 2016 with extensive lichen planus all over her body as well as inside the mouth. She complained intensive itching over all the affected areas.
She was suffering from this condition for one month, but it was spreading to a great extent which bothered her and increased her worry. She had previously taken the conventional medicines for the same but found no relief. She was currently taking antibiotics when she visited us to control the same, but she hoped for a recovery with homeopathy.
Detailed case taking was done. No specific stress was found to be present as the triggering factor. There was another complaint of gastritis present.
She was a housewife. Her diet was vegetarian in nature, and her appetite was normal. She was of average built. She was anxious by nature and had an anxiety about the health.
Research-based medicines were given to her, after a detailed case study.
In her first follow-up, there was a mild aggravation in her condition. Aggravation had occurred in the thickening and itching of the affected areas and hyperpigmentation. The condition was in control than earlier with no new eruptions observed anywhere on the body. Her allopathic medicines were advised to be reduced in correlation with her improvement.
In the month of August 2016, she reported having experienced a 50% improvement in her condition. Moderate itching, which she had suffered, had reduced and was in better control. The irritation due to the same had also reduced.
In the month of October 2016, it was noticed that her oral lichen planus had reduced. Several areas, such as legs toes, vulva-right side, behind the right ear, nipple, back, nails, and umbilicus, had shown improvement of 70% with respect to the reduction in hyperpigmentation as well as itching.
In March 2017, the patient was showing improvement of about 70%-80%.
In June 2017, the condition was still in control and improvement continued in reducing the hyperpigmentation marks. No new eruptions were observed.
By August 2017, the improvement in her condition was around 80%-85% in terms of relief from itching and spread. The eruptions had become inactive leading to a great relief for the patient. The burning of the oral lesion had stopped completely.
In February 2018, the spots had faded away to a good extent and so it led to an improvement in the hyperpigmentation. All eruptions had flattened and become inactive, and no spread was noted.
In March 2018, the condition of the patient had achieved an improvement of 90%. The itching had totally stopped and the eruptions had faded to a great extent. Oral Lichen planus was cured and never appeared again. Lichenified nails had turned normal, and the thickness of her skin in all affected areas was remarkably better than earlier.
The patient is still continuing the treatment with us for a complete recovery and is very happy with her improvement.
Conclusion:
Homeopathy is the wonderful system for complete recovery from difficult conditions like Lichen planus, where the scope of the conventional medicine is limited. Conventional medications, which are more harmful than the disease, lead to further complications for the patients.
