Mr. M.K. (PIN - 9137) is a 70 years old, tall well built and energetic gentleman.
He has been under treatment of Dr Rajesh Shah from the past three years. He has been suffering from Psoriasis since the past eight years. He had extensive psoriasis on the hands, legs, and torso. It would flare up in the winter forcing him to start methotrexate. He would require taking methotrexate for 3-4 months.
When he first consulted us, he was suffering from a severe flare up. There were extensive lesions all over the body. The lesions were red and inflamed. There was scaling, dryness
He researched extensively on psoriasis. He felt very angry and upset about his inability to over come this disease. He had tried Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Naturopathy. Nothing except methotrexate had helped him, and now even that was causing trouble.
He was low in the body, but not in his spirits. He was a very determined person and he searched the internet for information and a solution. He came across Dr Shah's website and contacted the doctors and came for a consultation.
Dr Shah explained to him that Homeopathy may not be so effective in the short term, for long tern management of this disease; homeopathy will suit him the best. This was a setback for him as he had imagined that he will get a very fast recovery. However, when explained in detail, he was convinced.
He said to Dr Shah, "OK, you are the expert; I will do as you say." His case was taken in detail by an assistant doctor.
He was thermally intolerant to heat and summer. He had a strong liking for sweets. He was working in the oil and natural gas sector. He was a managing director in a multi-national company. He had worked all over the globe, in this sector. He had introduced new technologies and erected some of the best and biggest rigs, across the globe.
He was active even at the age of seventy. He looked much younger than his age. He was cool tempered. He liked to practice yoga and enjoyed golf. He described himself as a dominating person. I like to impose my views. He disliked alcohol and hence he avoided socializing; partying.
He was very hard working and very kind to poor people. Regarding his work, he said, I always wanted to excel in life and I did. I get along very well with technocrats and professionals rather than businessmen.
Dr Shah examined him and conducted a detailed interview. Dr Shah prescribed Lycopodium 30 C and later on Psorinum in ascending potencies.
In the first year, his psoriasis was very unstable, with frequent remissions and relapses. The only major achievement was total abolishment of methotrexate and local steroids.
In the next year, there was much stability. The flare ups were less intense and short lasting. The lesions were only restricted to the knee, elbow and scalp. The torso was relatively free.
In the third year of treatment, he was almost disease free; there were mild episodes of skin dryness and redness, only in the winter. He was disease free in other seasons. He was very happy with the treatment.
This case demonstrates the way Homeopathy stabilizes a complex relapsing disease like Psoriasis. Slowly and steadily the normalcy in the skin was reclaimed.
