Lichen planus is a difficult and recurrent disease. If it is treated with steroids, there are chances of relapse. One such case of a female, from Indore, contacted Life Force Homeopathy in the month of September 2020 for her complaint of lichen planus.
She was suffering from this skin condition for a year. She had developed eruptions along with itching on her hands and legs 1 year back. She consulted a dermatologist and took steroid treatment for 4 months. She found relief with it, however, after stopping the medicines, the itching had started again. She was prescribed steroid injections. She felt relief with them for a few days, but the condition relapsed in a short time. The patient was very anxious as the problem was relapsing repeatedly and she is not getting completely recovered.
Physical Generals:
The patient had an average appetite. She had no specific desire to eat or drink any particular food or beverage. Her thirst for water was adequate. She had no issues related to the urine and stool. Her sleep was disturbed at times.
Psychological and Family Make-Up:
The patient was a housewife. Her husband was doing a job. She had 2 sons and was staying in a joint family. By nature, she was very sad and depressed and often got irritated easily.
Self and Family’s Medical History:
The patient had no major illness in the past. Also, there was no prominent medical history in her family.
At Life Force:
After studying the case in detail, Dr. Shah prescribed some research-based homeopathic medicines along with some dietary tips to the patient.
Follow-Ups:
On 18th November 2020, the patient reported that there was no major change with the medicines. The patient experienced no change in her eruptions. The itching had increased slightly from the past few days. Based on this feedback, Dr. Shah prescribed revised medicines to the patient.
On 20th January 2021, the patient reported that there was a great improvement with the homeopathic medicines. The spots were reducing in shape and size gradually. The itching was less than before. The patient was not taking any medicines and was only on homeopathy. She had experienced an overall recovery from the skin condition with the homeopathic medicines.
On 17th April 2021, the patient reported that she was further better with medicines. She was almost 70% better since starting with our homeopathic treatment. The itching on her skin was very less now. Active lesions were not much present. Hyperpigmented marks were observed more on the skin. The spread of disease was completely under control now. The patient had experienced an overall recovery with the medicines.
On 15th June 2021, the patient was reported to be further better with the homeopathic medicines. The active lesions had subsided. The itching was no longer present. No new lesion had appeared. The disease was completely under control. Her hyperpigmented marks were also turning lighter now.
The patient thanked Dr. Shah and the whole Life Force team for treating her and improving her skin health and overall well-being.
Conclusion:
This case illustrates that homeopathy can treat steroid-masked, relapsing lichen planus successfully and safely without any side effects.
