A 30-year-old male patient, Mr. R.R. (PIN: 27608) visited the Chembur branch on 1st January 2016 with the complaints of Urticaria. He was suffering from urticaria for five years. His complaints of urticaria were progressing with the passing days. He would suffer from hives with intense itching, burning, and redness on hands, legs, and back daily and, on the entire body, occasionally, with the frequency of once in four to five months. It probably started due to excessive work pressure and stress. His skin was sensitive to the pressure. He was on antihistamines with no satisfactory relief. In the past, he had tried Ayurvedic and homeopathic treatment too but that did not help him much.
Besides this, he even had the complaint of irritable bowel syndrome which he was suffering for the last four years. Occasionally, he would get loose stools with the presence of mucus, but there was no bleeding.
Mr. R.R has a mixed diet, and he loved to eat fish and chicken. The only food that he was averse to was bitter-gourd. He did not like the hot weather and preferred the winter season.
He was an IT engineer by profession and was unmarried. He used to stay with his parents and had a sister who was married. His father was a retired chemical engineer, and his mother was a homemaker. He had a happy childhood and teenage life. His stress started piling up only from the time he had started working.
His parents had diabetes, and his sister too had urticaria. Mr. R.R. had suffered from malaria in his childhood.
Mr. R.R. was a calm and reserved person. He was not used to getting angry quickly. He didn’t like crowded places and hence he used to avoid traveling by train. He has very few friends.
Mr. R.R.’s case was studied in detail by Dr. Shah. After studying the case, Dr. Shah prescribed research-based molecules along with other homeopathic medicines to the patient for six weeks. He was also advised for some investigations.
Follow-Ups:
In the first follow-up, his relief from urticaria complaint was slightly better. A 5% improvement was observed in his relief from the complaint. This time, he was given medicines for a month.
After two months of starting the treatment on 27th February 2016, he was further better. There were sporadic rashes on his body, and the hives had reduced.
By 18th July 2016, he was 30% better. Although the intensity of the rashes had reduced, the frequency was still on a daily basis. Dr. Shah further revised the medicines based on the progress report.
On 30th December 2016, Mr. R.R. said that his relief from the intensity of his urticaria was better by 45%. His daily number of episodes too had reduced. Also, his itching and burning had reduced. Again, medicines were prescribed to him for a month. Meanwhile, he also started the treatment for IBS from Life Force.
Mr. R.R. stopped taking anti-histamines since April 2017.
Dr. Shah further revised his medicines on 28th June 2017, and the intensity of his urticaria had further reduced. He was not getting hives anymore, and there were more of sporadic rashes on the body.
On 29th December 2017, Mr. R.R. said that he was 50% better during the follow-up at the branch. His itching and burning had reduced. The duration for which he would get the rashes had also reduced to a great extent. Dr. Shah revised the medicines based on the feedback.
On 12th June 2018, Mr. R.R. reported saying he experienced no major episodes from March 2018 except for a slight redness on the neck and hands.
On 24th February 2019, Mr. R.R. reported saying that he was feeling 70% better. His intensity of urticaria had further reduced. The episodes of rashes had reduced. He experienced minimal itching, and the burning sensation had reduced drastically.
Mr. R.R still continues taking treatment for a complete recovery from the urticaria problem.
Conclusion:
This case highlights that homeopathy helps in improving the quality of life of patients suffering from urticaria without being dependent on anti-histamines. Homeopathy treats urticaria remarkably and safely without any side-effects.
