A twenty year old Mr P.K (Patient Ref No—L-6390) reported with eczematous eruptions since childhood. The eruptions were present on the lower extremities (especially on the right foot) and fingers of the right hand since eight years. He had severe itching and marked dryness of skin. His eczema was usually aggravated in every winter and in the morning.
He had an average appetite. He was very fond of junk food, paneer and fermented food. There was aversion to sweets. He had profuse perspiration especially on the forehead. His sleep was disturbed due to constant thinking.
He stayed with his parents, grandparents and sister. He was very shy and reserved with strangers. He did not generally initiate any conversation by himself. He would never share his feelings with others, as he could not trust people very easily. He was very intelligent and confident. He was mild and used to seldom get angry. He was not under any stress as such. The peculiarity in his case was that inspite of being introverted, he desired company.
His history showed that he had suffered from jaundice at the age of six. He also had chicken pox at the age of 16.
There was no history of any major illness in the family. His father had suffered from renal calculi (kidney stones). His mother had extremely dry skin. His sister was a slow learner and she attended a special class. His paternal grandfather had suffered from ischemic heart disease. His grandmother suffered from gallstones (gall bladder stones). His maternal grandfather had a liver ailment. His aunt had cervical spondylitis.
After detailed case history, he was prescribed constitutional homeopathic medicines. After first month of treatment, his eczema on the lower limbs and fingers of the right hand were much better. After continuing the treatment further for 3 months, his eczematous eruptions were better by about 70%. No new eruptions were noticed. He has been asked to continue the treatment as prescribed.
