A 46-year-old scientist working in BARC, Mr. K.D. (PIN: 9093) visited our clinic on 12th April 2017 for the treatment of Prostatitis. He presented with recurring urinary tract infections which he was suffering from the last 6 months. He would develop acute symptoms in every 3-4 weeks lasting for about 7-10 days, and they would subside after taking antibiotics. He was experiencing a painful burning sensation while urination, retention of urine, and a delay in the emptying of the urinary bladder. He also had a painful ejaculation. He was thoroughly investigated to rule out all sorts of infections which came negative. He was diagnosed as a case of a bacterial Prostatitis by the urologist.
In the past in 2006, he was successfully treated by Dr. Shah for his Vitiligo complaint. His mother was suffering from High blood pressure.
He liked milk and disliked spicy food. He had no complaints with regards to the bowel movements and sleep. He had an average appetite and thirst.
He was working in BARC as a scientist. He lived with his wife. His parents and younger brother lived in a village of West Bengal. He was shy and reserved by nature. As an elder son, he had always taken up the responsibilities of his home. He had a harmonious marital life.
Based on the entire case totality, a remedy called Medorrhinum 200 was selected along with Dr. Shah's research-based medicines and prescribed to the patient.
Follow-Ups:
After 5 weeks of medication on 10th May 2017 in his first follow-up itself, he showed a good improvement in his relief from the condition. The relief from the intensity of his pain was better by 50%. He did not experience the need to take antibiotics to subside the acute infection.
He showed persistent improvement in the subsequent follow-ups and, in six months of time, he did not experience a single episode of Prostatitis. His treatment was continued, he had not experienced any episode till the date and the treatment was concluded.
Conclusion:
The above case illustrates how in the cases of chronic prostatitis Homeopathy is the best substitute for antibiotics. Homeopathy is highly effective in treating prostatitis successfully and safely without any side-effects.
