An 11 years old girl resident of Nashik, Ms. MAS (PIN 24883) visited Life Force in February 2015 for the treatment of vitiligo.
Her mother had observed a white spot on the right side of waistline in January 2015. Parents took her to a dermatologist. The dermatologist diagnosed it as vitiligo and prescribed local and oral steroids, multivitamins, and advised to apply a solution of basic fibroblast growth factor locally. After using the conventional medicines for one month, there was no significant reduction in the white spot, rather there was a gradual increase in its size.
Ms. MAS also had an associated complaint of Eczema on her palms and soles. She would get reddish eruptions on her palms and soles only in the summer season.
As per her family medical history, her paternal grandfather had diabetes and maternal aunt suffered from vitiligo.
She would prefer both vegetarian and non-vegetarian diet. She had a craving to eat chicken and chocolates. She would get perspiration on her palms, soles, scalp, and nose.
She was studying in the second standard when she visited Life Force. Her father was a Colonel in Indian Army, and her mother was a headmistress of a reputed school. Her elder brother was studying. She was very confident, expressive, talkative, and affectionate by nature.
With all these case details, Dr. Shah analyzed the case further and prescribed research-based medicines. Along with the medicine, certain dietary measures and lifestyle changes were advised by Dr. Shah.
The patient visited with her parents for the first follow-up in March 2015. There was around 10% improvement in the hypopigmented spot. Mother of the patient reported some re-pigmentation of the white spot on the right waistline. She also reported the development of two new spots each on the left waistline and the upper back. Dr. Shah revised the medicine as per the feedback of the patient.
As reported by the patient in September 2015, there was 25% improvement in patient’s vitiligo. There was 75% reduction in the spot on the upper back. White spots on right and left waistline had reduced by 25%. The patient continued the medicine prescribed by Dr. Shah.
In December 2015, there was 50% reduction in the hypopigmented spots. There was complete re-pigmentation of the white spot on the upper back.
In May 2016, the patient reported overall 60% improvement in vitiligo. The patient continued the medicine prescribed by Dr. Shah.
In February 2017, around 90% white spots showed re-pigmentation. A major part of hypopigmented spots was looking like normal skin. Parents were happy with the progress. The patient continued the medicine for further improvement.
In the recent feedback given in April 2018, the patient reported complete re-pigmentation of the white spots on the right and left waistline and white spot on the upper back. Parents of the patient are happy with the recovery and thanked Life Force for the treatment given.
Conclusion:
This case highlights that, in the resistant cases of vitiligo, patience and proper homeopathic treatment under the guidance of an expert homeopath is the only key to complete recovery.
