Thirty years old, MBA executive visited Dr. Shah’s clinic on 8th August 2001. Mr. M. C. was residing in Mumbai. His patient identification number is 4472. He was suffering from Urticaria and was fed up of taking two anti allergic (Tab Atarax and Tab Allegra) daily with just temporary relief of few hours. It had started since his visit to Poland. He had used thermal wear and eaten canned food over there. He was taking these anti allergic medicines since five months. He had done allergy test which had detected few things like groundnut, milk, rice, tomatoes, lemon, and curd. He would get rashes by rubbing the skin.
His appetite was average. He liked chicken, spicy and chilly food. He was sensitive to cold weather.
He was a marketing executive in a company. His wife was a home maker. He had a three years old son. His parents were staying at native village.
He was cheerful and expressive. His irritability was within control limits. He was sad due to the slowing economy affecting his job prospects.
He had suffered from Eczema and allergic bronchitis in the past.
His maternal grandmother had asthma and grandfather had cancer. His paternal grandmother suffered from diabetes.
He was prescribed Calcarea Carbonicum 200c 2 doses along with Carcinosin 200c by Dr. Shah.
There was considerable improvement in his Urticaria after four months (December 2001) of medication. He had tried to gradually taper the intake of Allegra and Atarax but was unable to do so. Dr. Shah made the changes in the medicines for appropriate response.
He was able to stop allegra after eight months (April 2002) of medication. The frequency and intensity of the attack had also decreased. The dose required of atarax was also reduced.
His Urticaria was obstinate and dependant on antiallergic medicine, so it was taking time to wean him off from those medicines. He had found 30 – 40% improvement after a year’s medication (September 2002). The allegra had been stopped five months back and atarax was being taken once in two or three days. Dr. Shah had been reviewing his case in detail from time to time and prescribing the necessary medicines.
He was further gradually able to reduce tab atarax to once a week by January 2003. The frequency of Urticaria episode had also reduced substantially. He was happy with the progress so far and continued the medicine.
In the next six months, the Urticaria healed completely. There were no episodes in the last six months.
Dr Shah then advised him to stop the treatment.
He was in touch with Dr Shah. He would send greetings and well wishes.
He came to the clinic again on 20th April 2014 to consult for his daughter.
He said that Dr Shah had cured his chronic Urticaria permanently.
