A 22-years-old young lady, Miss. S.B. visited Life Force on 21st October 2009 for the complaint of Lichen Planus (LP). She was suffering from Lichen Planus from the last two to two and a half years. She was having small hyper-pigmented spots on both the legs. She had used oral and topical steroids for one or two months, one year ago. There was spread of her lichen planus after stopping the steroids. There was an occasional itching over the spots.
She also had a complaint of a migraine from which she was suffering since childhood. She would get a headache almost two times in a week. Her pain would get worse after physical exertion. She was a patient with Asthma as well. She would get complaints of Asthma during every weather change with a cough and wheezing, for which she had to use conventional medicines every time.
Her appetite was average with a strong craving for spicy food and chicken. Her perspiration, bowel habits, and micturition were normal. She was a chilly patient with a marked aggravation from the cold weather. Her menses were regular with no associated complaints.
Ms. S.B. was an engineering student and would live with her mother. Her father was working in the Middle East. She was reserved by nature, and she would not share her feelings with others. Her mother was dominating and very possessive about her.
Dr. Rajesh Shah studied her case in detail and prescribed research-based homeopathic medicines.
In the first two months of the treatment, her itching had stopped completely. Hyper-pigmented spots were present. There was no significant change in her Migraine. She had to take pain-killers twice or thrice in a week. The intensity of her pain was little less.
In her next follow-up after two months, her hyper-pigmented spots had started fading. The frequency of her headache had reduced. She got one episode of Asthma in the last two months. The intensity of her Asthmatic episode was less.
She showed an improvement in all her further follow-ups. By 29th July 2011, she got completely recovered from her Lichen Planus, Asthma, and Migraine.
Conclusion:
This case highlights that there was a temporary relief with steroids in her Lichen Planus with a rebound flare-up of the disease, which was completely treated with homeopathy. For the Asthma and Migraine, she could stop the use of conventional medicines and recovered only with the help of homeopathy.
