A 52-year-old female, Mrs. S.P. (PIN: 22251) started treatment from Life Force for her complaints of Lichen Planus on 1st February 2014.
The patient had been suffering from Lichen Planus for the last 7 years, and her complaints had increased since the last 6 months. There were lesions present on her legs, hands, back, and chest. She used to experience severe itching, which used to get aggravated at night, and burning sensation while bathing. Also, there used to be bleeding after scratching. The patient had taken Cortisone for 2 months. During that period, her relief from the complaints was better but, after stopping steroids, her lesions would increase. So, she had again started with steroids.
The patient's parents had skin problems.
The patient had cravings for sweets and meat. Her menses were regular lasting for 2 days.
By nature, the patient used to get stressed easily due to any minute family problem. She used to suppress her emotions and cry silently. Also, her complaints had started due to mental stress.
After studying her case in detail, Dr. Shah prescribed her research-based molecules for 2 months. She was advised to stop the steroids.
Follow-Ups:
After two months of taking medicines on 26th March 2014, when the patient gave a follow-up, her complaints had increased. Dr. Shah revised her medications and prescribed her new medicines for two months.
In her second follow-up on 17th May 2014, the patient expressed herself. She was a teacher by profession. Her husband and her son were very dominating. There used to be frequent fights with her husband, as he was very short-tempered. She always had to keep quiet and, as a result, she had bottled up her emotions. She always suppressed her emotions and cried alone.
On the basis of this description, Dr. Shah prescribed her Sepia along with other research-based medicines for two months.
When the patient reported on 16th July 2014, her relief from the complaints was almost 90% better. There were no active eruptions anymore, only hyperpigmentation was remaining. Further, she was prescribed medications for hyperpigmentation.
Her relief from the complaints gradually improved. The eruptions had flattened, and only hyperpigmentation remained.
The patient took homeopathic medications religiously and also followed the diet and the regimen.
Gradually, her recovery from hyperpigmentation also improved.
The patient still continues to take medications, as she does not want her complaints to recur.
She has stopped all the Allopathic medications.
Conclusion:
This case illustrates that homeopathic medicines work holistically. The homeopathic medicines act both on the mind and the body. Homeopathy helps in treating chronic, difficult cases of lichen planus effectively and safely without any side-effects.
