Mr. R. R. C. (PIN 16602) was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis at the age of 20 years. Presently, he is 25-years-old. His complaints of pain and stiffness had increased since the last six months. His mobility had decreased by 90%. He suffered from low back pain and stiffness associated with cervical pain and stiffness. He had severe sacroiliitis, which presented as severe pain and stiffness in both his hips. He used to experience difficulty even in walking properly. He was unable to lift any weight. He had a fall on his back five years ago. He was misdiagnosed by the doctor as tuberculosis of the bone and given conventional treatment in the form of injections for two months. He would take cortisone as and when required under the supervision of the local doctor. He visited Life Force on 2nd August 2011 to start homeopathic treatment.
He liked meat and spicy food. He disliked sweets. He was a habitual smoker smoking seven cigarettes a day since the past four years. He would not sweat generally. He was sensitive to both the extremes of temperature. His sleep was disturbed due to the pain.
He was a design engineer by profession working in a design master company. His father was a farmer. His mother was a homemaker. His sister was married and settled.
He was anxious and impatient before diagnosis, but later he turned mild and calm. He would often suppress his anger and let go. He would share his emotions with his friends. He had not disclosed regarding his disease to his parents, as he did not want to hurt them. He was stressed regarding his health prognosis. He was ambitious and wished to do business. He was helpful and liked by everyone in his social circle.
His paternal grandfather had rheumatoid arthritis.
He was prescribed a few research-based medicines by Dr. Shah, after studying his case in detail.
He visited us on 24th November 2011 for the first follow-up. He was feeling 10% improvement in his relief from the stiffness. The intensity of his pain had also decreased. He did not take any cortisone after starting with Dr. Shah’s medicines.
He reported over the phone on 15th February 2012 with 30% - 40% improvement. The pain in his hip joints and lower back was much better. The relief from stiffness had also improved further. He was prescribed medicines for two months.
He called up on 31st March just to inform us about his recovery. He was experiencing 60%-70% improvement in his overall health.
He visited us on 22nd June 2012 after a gap of a month in the medications due to negligence. His complaints of pain and stiffness had mildly increased. When on medication, his mobility had improved by 80%. Since a month, it had again decreased to 50%. Since two months, he would feel stiffness in his chest and ribs on coughing and sneezing. When he called up on 12th October 2013. there was overall 70% improvement in his relief from pain and stiffness. His posture and mobility had also improved by 50%.
When he called up on 14th February 2014 for a follow-up, he was happy with the steady improvement in all his complaints of pain and stiffness.
He visited the clinic on 12th April 2014 to meet Dr. Shah. He was glad with the improvement achieved in his case. He could sit cross leg on the floor now. His gait had improved and posture had also improved. The pain in his hip, leg and back was nil. He had stopped painkiller a long back while starting the treatment at Life Force. He could do stretching exercises without any pain.

This case highlights that homeopathy is quite effective in offering a great relief from pain and discomfort resulting due to ankylosing spondylitis as well as improving the mobility and posture significantly.
