A 10-years-old girl, Ms. M.K. (PIN 21049) consulted at Life Force on 4th May 2013 for the treatment of the Nephrotic syndrome. She was diagnosed with it 4 years back, and she had taken the steroid at the time of the episode. She had developed swelling mainly around the eyes. Despite the dose of Prednisolone (Steroid) for 2 years, her urine protein was traced to be around 2 ++. At the time of the consultation, the albumin in the urine was nil for the last 10 days. Besides this, she was suffering from a frequent cough and cold from the last 4 years.
Her appetite was excessive when she was taking the steroid, otherwise, her appetite was average and she had a craving for eggs and sweets. There was no specific disliking. Her bowel movement, urination, sweat, and sleep were normal. Her built was average. Her development was on time.
She was a jolly girl. She easily adjusted in her age group. She was very obedient and hardworking. She loved dancing a lot. Her grasping power was very good.
There was no specific family history, except her grandfather from the paternal side was expired due to the liver failure. In her past, she had faced a gastric complaint. Besides this, there was no other specific disease in her past.
At the time of the consultation, she was studying in Std. one. Her father was a pharmacist, and her mother was a teacher. She had a seven months old sister. Her grandmother lived with her, and she was a homemaker.
After studying her detailed case history, she was prescribed research-based molecule by Dr. Shah.
The patient gave her first follow-up on 7th June 2013. Her father informed that there was some improvement in her condition. Her orbital swelling was cured totally. No episode had relapsed in the last 1 month. Her relief from the frequent cold complaint was improved by more than 50%.
On 2nd November 2013, the patient’s father reported her condition. Her condition was under control. She had faced two mild episodes of nephrotic syndrome in the last 5 months. Her steroid doses were also reduced. There was an improvement in her overall health after commencing homeopathic treatment.
On her follow up on 9th July 2014, her father informed a drastic improvement in her condition. No episode had relapsed since 4 months. All her symptoms were totally cured. Her steroid doses were also reduced.
On 5th July 2015, when the patient’s father gave a feedback, he informed that after September 2014 no episode had relapsed. Her relief from the frequent cold condition had also improved a lot.
On 16th March 2016, her father reported that there was no complaint. After the month of September 2014, no episode had relapsed. The patient was not taking any steroid and other medicines. She had stopped all other medicines except homeopathic medicine. The patient’s father was quite happy with the treatment.
On 25th November 2016, her father informed that one mild episode had relapsed in October 2016. For that episode, she had started the steroid. But, at the time of the follow-up, her protein leakage was nil. Her overall condition was good.
On 20th December 2017, when the patient’s father gave the follow-up, her condition was under control. No episode was relapsed. Her both mental and physical conditions had improved a lot.
On 24th May 2018, when her father gave a follow-up, her condition was very good. No relapse had appeared after October 2016. She was not taking any steroid doses since April 2017. Her general well-being had improved a lot. Her father was quite satisfied with the medicine.
She is still continuing the medicine for the further improvement of her immunity.
Conclusion:
This case illustrates that, even in a complicated disease like Nephrotic syndrome, homeopathy can give a drastic, positive, & fast results if the right homeopathic medicine is started on time and by an experienced homeopath.
