A 25-year-old beautiful lady, Mrs.C.P. (Ref. No. 15247) a teacher by profession visited Life Force Center for treatment of Lichen Planus which began 2 years back. At the beginning of the case, she described her symptoms as:
"My Lichen Planus started on my legs and now affects my neck, axilla, scalp, abdomen and forearms. It causes severe itching, dryness, and burning pains and is worsened by hot dry weather. After severe itching my skin tends to bleed. I am very much stressed as it is spreading.”
In addition to the lichen planus, she also had allergic dermatitis with complaints like itching and redness caused by wearing artificial jewellery and metals.
In her medical history it was found that her lichen planus was cortisone masked as she was on topical as well as oral cortisone.
Emotionally she was very sensitive, showed anticipatory anxiety, brooding tendency was also seen. She was under lots of stress related to marriage as well as competitive examination before developing this disease.
She had marked desire for spicy food, chocolates and warm stimulants like coffee. Thermally she was hot with profuse perspiration on soles. She had a family history of hypothyroidism in father.
After studying the case in details Dr. Rajesh Shah advised her to reduce the frequency of steroidal ointment and slowly stop it (chances of resurfacing were explained) and prescribed him our research based medicine along with her constitutional medicine.
At the 2 months follow up Mrs. C. P reported that her lichen planus has stopped spreading and no new lesions were seen which used to be a common phenomenon before starting medicines. She was relaxed emotionally in terms of her anticipatory anxiety.
At the 6-month follow-up, Mrs. C. P reported that her lichen planus has healed by 50%. Her most prominent symptoms of severe itching, dryness, and burning pains were under control.
In the before/after case photos after 1 year period Mrs. C. P showed 100% improvement. All the Lichen Planus lesions had healed and there were no new spots in the last six months.
Dr Shah stopped her treatment, as she was completely cured.
