Mr. T.J.V (PIN 16991) visited the clinic on 15th September 2012 for the complaints of his joint pains.
Mr. T.J.V presented with joint pains, which had started 5 months back. He was suffering from multiple joint pains involving mainly the knee and the ankle joint. He would develop swelling on the joints, and he had severe joint stiffness. On the blood report, his HLA-B27 was positive.
He was diagnosed as a case of Ankylosing Spondylitis. He was on methotrexate and neotrexate, the immune modulatory medicines along with the painkillers. These medicines didn't work positively for him, and there was no change in his pain and stiffness of the joints.
He was a vegetarian. His appetite had reduced from the time the joint pains had started. There was no specific liking for any kind of food items. He had a tendency of experiencing excess perspiration. His thirst for water was also more. Thermally, he couldn't tolerate too much of hot weather. His bowel and urine habits were normal. He was tall and averagely built. His sleep was disturbed due to the joint pains.
Mr. T.J.V was working as an Assistant sales manager, and he was staying with his parents. His father was a contractor, and mother was a house wife.
He was a jolly fellow, he liked making friends. He would socialise with everyone, even at office. He was straight-forward and would prefer to speak out whatever the matter was. He was very attached to his father, and he shared everything with his father. He said his father was more like a friend to him.
He mentioned having a family history of ankylosing spondylitis, and two of his paternal aunty were also HLA-B27 positive.
Based on these medical details, the medicines were prescribed by Dr. Rajesh Shah.
At the follow-up on 2nd Nov 2012, after 1.5 months of the treatment, Mr. T.J.V reported 60% improvement in his relief from the joint pains. His swelling too was less. He could move about more freely, as there was an improvement in his joint mobility.
At the follow-up on 24th March 2013, after 6 months of the treatment, Mr. T.J.V reported that the positive response is still maintained. His knee pain and the back pain was less, and the morning stiffness was less. He was still continuing with the methotrexate and the painkillers.
At the follow-up on 29th June 2013, after 9 months of the treatment, Mr. T.J.V reported a good improvement in his joint pains and swelling. His Methotrexate dose was also tapered gradually. His need for painkillers was less. This was a positive sign as his dependency on the allopathic medicines had reduced and the joint pains were also less.
Mr. T.J.V is still continuing the treatment. He is very happy, as he could experience positive changes in his joint pains, and he could also reduce the dependency on allopathic medicines.
Conclusion:
Ankylosis Spondylitis is an auto immune condition, wherein the HLA-B27 is positive most often and usually there is a genetic link in the family. Homeopathy helps in reducing the pain and discomfort resulting due to it.
