Mrs ST (PIN no.18502) 59 yrs old house wife from Karnatak registered online in March 2012.
She was suffering from semi circular patches on her palms with dryness, scaling, itching and burning sensation. Dermatologist diagnosed it as a case of Psoriasis. The complaint was from 1 year with no remission. Her complaints would get aggravate during cold season. She was given antiallergy medicines for itching that would give relief for 8-10 hrs and again complaints would be as it is.
She was also having headache, sleeplessness, and generalised weakness.
Initialy she was given steroids for her psoriasis, but when she realised that she is facing side effects of steroids and suppression of lesions followed by flare up, she stopped her medicines.
Her food and water intake was average with special liking for spicy and sour food. She would sweat less and was not able to tolerate winter season at all. Her bladder and bowel motions were normal.
She was a widow, and used to stay in a joint family including 3 son 3 daughter in law and grandchildren. Her family was supportive and there was no stress at family or social life.
As a person she was an anxious sensitive lady. Her husband's demise was the only painful event when she developed headache and sleeplessness. Since then her sensitivity also increased. She used to get easily offended by small things. She would never share her inner emotions with anyone.
Based on all these information, Dr Shah prescribed the constitutional medicine on 7th March 2012 for 2 months. She returned to clinic for follow up on 4th May 2012 . She responded very well to the treatment within 1 and half month.
Her skin was 90% clear. There were hardly any psoriasis lesions on her palms. However her headache, sleeplessness was same as it was since long time. She was very happy to experience clear skin, first time in his last 1 years. She gave her written testimonial regarding same.
Conclusion:
This case study reveals that the response to the treatment depends upon person to person. A person's sensitivity, susceptibility, state of immunity, stress coping mechanism are some of the things which are important for this perspectives. We have seen that most of the patients require 6-10 weeks to see positive initial improvement in such chronic diseases but there are some recorded cases like this where patient may show dramatic improvement in a month or some patients may require 2-4 months.
