Three years old, playful girl, A. G. (Patient Identification number - 11007) visited our centre with frequent cold complaints on 7th August 2008. She was accompanied by her parents and elder brother.
Since last 7 – 10 months she was suffering from frequent cold and cough attacks. At least once a month she would fall sick with cough and tonsillitis. She would even complaint of ear pain and occasional fever. This episode would last for 10 – 15 days and subside only after taking antibiotics. The cold would aggravate after eating cold things like ice creams and cold drinks. She had a reduced appetite.
She would prefer sweets in food and had an average thirst. She was intolerant of hot weather.
Her family consisted of grandparents, parents and elder brother. Her father and grandfather were handling the family steel business. While her mother and grandmother was home maker. Her elder brother was studying in 3rd std and herself was a nursery student.
She was loquacious and attention seeker. She would want things to be done according to her way. She would dominate on everybody at home.
There was no significant family history. All family members were apparently healthy.
She had been nebulized twice in the past due to her severe cough.
Her case was studied in detail by Dr. Shah and was prescribed a research based medicine.
After 5 months of medicines (31.1.09) – she was 75% better. She had 3 episodes which were very well managed by homeopathic medicines. Her prescription was accordingly upgraded by Dr. Shah.
After another 3 months of regular medicines (06.04.09) – she reported with no episode of cold since last 2 months. Her appetite had increased. They were very happy that she could be saved from recurrent abuse of powerful antibiotics.
