“Regaining Strength: Homeopathy’s Role in Knee Pain Management”
Mrs. P.S, a 62-year-old housewife undergoing treatment for Vitiligo from Life force Borivali branch bearing Patient ID- 22045, presented with knee pain in the month of January 2024, that started a month ago. She experienced a sudden onset of severe pain and joint instability in her left knee while descending stairs. Initially unable to stand or move, she can now walk slowly with minimal pressure on the knee. There is slight swelling on the medial side of the knee, pain while straightening it, and difficulty in all movements. There is no history of fall or injury. MRI suggestive of Degenerative osteo-arthrosis. Despite being on conventional treatment, she has found no relief.
Mrs. P.S also had a history of hair fall and depression, which she has overcome.
She is fair and flabby, She follows a vegetarian diet with an average appetite and has no specific cravings or aversions, regular bowel and bladder habit, with intolerance to heat.
Her spouse is an electrical engineer, and she has two married daughters.
In the past, she suffered from uterine fibroid and underwent a hysterectomy and appendectomy at a young age.
Mrs. P.S is extremely particular about cleanliness and cannot tolerate dust. She is fastidious and prefers things done her way,sometimes to the point of obsession. In the past, she used to get angry easily, often losing control and beating her children. In 2011, she attempted suicide by taking sleeping pills and was on antidepressants. There was no significant stress at home, but she experienced depression, possibly due to hormonal factors.She shares a good relationship with her husband. She now feels guilt over how she treated her children in the past, as they and her husband continue to support and care for her despite it.

FOLLOW UP:
In the first follow-up, there was no change, and all symptoms remained the same.
In the next two follow-ups on March 14th and May 21st, she noticed slight improvement in pain and movement difficulties.
By the August 1st follow-up, she had significant improvement, was able to walk without difficulty, and had reduced swelling.
On September 13th, she reported being 60-70% better and had started some exercises and physiotherapy.
By October 13th, 2024, she stated she was completely fine, more than 90% improved, with only occasional mild pain episodes.
