A Better Life for Kids, Life Force Treatment for Allergic Bronchitis

Kashvi a 5-year-old girl (Patient ID:53197) was brought to the Malleswaram branch of Life Force Bangalore by her parents, to seek medical intervention for her recurrent respiratory complaints which had become a regular problem, significantly affecting her daily activities and development. Kashvi presented with a cold, cough, and congested chest. The cough was productive and persistent accompanied by white expectoration noted during episodes. The mucus produced was white indicating a non-infectious inflammatory process. She experienced recurrent cough episodes approximately 2-3 times per month which would last 3-4 hours. The cold weather and rainy season consistently exacerbated her condition, and chocolate was the known dietary trigger contributing to her episodes. She didn't experience fever during episodes which points away from bacterial or viral infections and toward an allergic or asthmatic cause. The likely diagnosis was recurrent allergic Bronchitis.

Allergic bronchitis is a condition in which the airways in the lungs become inflamed due to an allergic reaction. It is similar to asthma but usually involves inflammation triggered by allergens, such as pollen, dust mites, pet dander, or mold, rather than by other irritants or respiratory infections.  Allergic bronchitis occurs when the immune system overreacts to allergens, causing inflammation and narrowing of the airways in the lungs. This can lead to breathing difficulties and other symptoms.

Kashvi was treated with a Budacort inhaler a corticosteroid inhaler used to reduce airway inflammation and also she was given an Asthalin inhaler a bronchodilator used for immediate relief during acute episodes of cough and breathlessness. The long-term use of inhalers raised concerns about possible side effects for parents.

Kashvi's father had allergy complaints and her paternal uncle suffered from Asthma indicating a strong family history of asthma and allergies suggesting a hereditary component.

Physical examination:

Chest examination: Revealed signs of congestion in the chest.

PHYSICAL GENERALS:

The patient follows a mixed diet and has an average appetite with no specific craving of any food. His urinary function was normal and his bowel movements and sleep were satisfactory

Family History and background:

Dad is working in an MNC, and Mom is studying LLB.

MENTAL GENERALS:

Kashvi was a very jolly and happy child.

After studying her detailed case history, she was prescribed CALC-PHOS 3X along with researched base molecules by Dr. Shah

At such an early age when one falls ill due to frequent infections it may disrupt the ability of the child to focus and perform at school and also the physical activity is limited due to breathlessness and fatigue during episodes, Homoeopathic treatment has a key role in the management of such chronic recurrent allergic diseases.

The Homeopathic treatment was started with the goal of reducing the frequency, duration, and intensity of episodes, to improve the quality of life and reduce the dependency on conventional treatment. The medicines were introduced as long-term measures to strengthen immunity and manage seasonal triggers. Also, it was advised to reduce the chocolate intake or to avoid it as much as possible.

Follow-ups:

When the patient was called for the first follow-up on February 8th, 2024, the frequency of getting cough episodes was reduced. She had only one episode in 2 months. Along with Homeopathic treatment, there was a need to give the inhalers as well which indicated that the severity of complaints was the same. As per the case, the medicines were revised.

By 20th April 2024, Kashvi showed significant positive changes with Homeopathy. The frequency, duration, and severity of episodes were reduced and also the use of inhalers was reduced to an extent.

By 19th June 2024, the patient was 80% better, she didn’t experience any major episodes of bronchitis and also there was no need to give the conventional treatment. The parents confirmed giving the chocolates to Kashvi however taking the chocolates didn’t cause any complaints and Kashvi was doing great!

The parents thanked Dr. Shah and the entire team for the successful treatment of their daughter in a short period and the parents started believing firmly in homeopathy.

CONCLUSION:

In homeopathy, the treatment of allergic bronchitis aims to address both the symptoms and the underlying sensitivities that trigger the condition. When inhalers (often containing bronchodilators or corticosteroids) are already being used for managing allergic bronchitis, homeopathic remedies can be complementary to help reduce the frequency and severity of symptoms, support lung health, and address the root causes of the allergic reaction without giving any side effect.
