"A Case Study of Lichen Planus Management Through Individualized Homoeopathic Treatment"

The patient, who lived in Karnataka, was visited by the patient''s uncle at the Life Force Clinic in the Vashi branch (Patient ID -53060). Since the patient only speaks Kannada, her uncle was translating her symptoms from Kannada to English or Hindi. The patient was complaining of elbow and lower extremity lichen planus. Eruptions have been intermittent since complaints began two years ago. The patient''s main complaint was thick eruptions on the elbows and lower extremities, along with hyperpigmentation, nodular eruptions, and intense itching of the eruptions. There was also bleeding after scratching, and the lesions had not changed in two years.

Associated complaints: Her menstrual cycle was irregular because of the stress she was undergoing because of her Lichen planus, and she also faced marriage rejection because of her skin ailments. The cycle was once every two months, and menses lasted for 5 days with normal blood flow. She sometimes experienced blood clots and suffered from dysmenorrhea, for which she was taking painkillers.

She had tried conventional treatment, which included hydrochloric tablets, and when she consulted us, she was on Ayurvedic treatment.

Physical generals: Her appetite was good, and her thirst was on the lesser side. She drank around 1-2 liters of water per day. She didn''t have a specific craving or aversion to foods.

Personal information: The patient has a Bcom degree, her father works in agriculture, her mother is a homemaker, and her younger brother is a first-year college student.

Mental generals: The patient is easily agitated, prone to yelling at others, and prefers to be by herself.

With all this information provided, she started treatment with lifeforce homeopathy on November 22, 2023. Dr. Rajesh Shah prescribed homeopathic medicines based on the totality of symptoms.

Follow-ups:
The patient was 30–40% better in her complaints at the time of her first follow-up on February 2, 2024; there were no new eruptions, the old eruptions were getting better, and there was less burning and itching.

On March 29, 2024, she had her second follow-up, during which there were no new eruptions, the old eruptions were better, and there was no burning or itching.

At her third follow-up on May 31, 2024, the patient was much better; there were no new eruptions, the old eruptions were drying and healing, she complained of occasional itching, and the hyperpigmented marks were becoming a little dull in color.

Following a follow-up on September 29, 2024, the eruptions increased, and the old eruptions became suddenly very painful. A few new eruptions were observed, and they were painful. There were hypertrophied eruptions and hyperpigmentation, and the patient''s father reported that she was unable to walk at all because of the painful sores.

At her most recent follow-up on January 23, 2025, the patient reported that all of her complaints had improved by 70%, that her ankle eruptions had significantly improved, that her itching had significantly decreased, that her burning sensation had significantly decreased, and that her hyperpigmentation had become dull.

Conclusion:
This case demonstrates how well homeopathic individualized medications work to treat autoimmune conditions like lichen planus and provide patients with substantial long-term relief.
