A Complete Recovery from Immunosuppressants-Suppressed Lichen Planus Found with Homeopathy
A 43-year-old teacher (PIN: 42512) approached us at Life Force in f February 2020 for the treatment of her complaints of Lichen Planus. It had started affecting her 6 months back. She was treated with immunosuppressants, corticosteroids, antibiotics, and antihistamines, which had no effects and the lesions were rapidly spreading further over her whole body, including her face and mouth.
The lesions used to start with pinkish-red, shiny papular lesions on the skin with severe itching. They used to turn dark purplish or presented with brown hyperpigmentation. Oral lesions were white lacy lesions on the inner cheeks and used to have a burning sensation when she had hot tea and spicy food.
The patient was a teacher at school and lived with her husband, who was a busy manager in a private company, and her two teenage kids. Her in-laws were retired and also used to live with them. The patient was a perfectionist and she used to look after the whole family's needs.
She was a vegetarian who used to eat eggs and had a marked craving for chocolates.
Her mother had Hepatitis C, while her father used to suffer from Psoriasis.
At Life Force:
Based on her case details, Dr. Shah prescribed his research-based Homeopathic medicines to the patient. The necessary dietary changes, blood investigations, and guidance about skin and oral care were given to the patient.
Follow-Ups:
After about 12 weeks, the patient mentioned to us that the spread of the condition had slowed down. Also, new lesions had stopped developing with relief in itching. Her blood investigations were all within normal limits. After the evaluation of her follow-ups, Dr. Shah prescribed medicines to her again.
In between, she had a flare-up with new lesions, which gradually subsided solely with homeopathic medicines.
For the next six to eight months, there was a further reduction in her lesions and itching had turned negligible. Her follow-ups were evaluated in detail and Dr. Shah prescribed further medicines to the patient.
During follow-ups, it was noted that her skin lesions were responding more quickly than the oral and facial lesions. Such smooth healing is always expected in lichen planus.
In the next two to four months, there were no active lesions and only hyperpigmented areas were left, which had started to lighten as well. With further medicines, the marks were further lightened and started to fade remarkably. The patient had recovered from lichen planus completely and stopped her treatment. She still is stable.
She then started treatment for her complaints of cervical spondylitis and recovered from it as well.
Conclusion:
Such a case of lichen planus which showed no response to the immunosuppressants, corticosteroids, antibiotics, and antihistamines came to us when the disease was aggressive and difficult to treat. Under the expertise of Dr. Shah and with his research-based homeopathic medicines, it came under control and the patient healed completely. Thus, homeopathy promotes recovery from drug-dependent lichen planus incredibly, gently, and safely with no adverse effects.
