A Director of a Software Company in the United States Recovered Remarkably from Vitiligo
A 46-year-old male patient, Mr. S. V. (LFMPL PIN: 21478) after thoroughly perusing Life Force Homeopathy’s website, decided to speak with Dr. Shah's team and opted for online treatment under Dr. Shah in January 2013 for his complaints of Vitiligo.
Around June 2012, his first spot of vitiligo appeared on his right arm. It was a little white spot on the back of his forearm. It started with itchiness which increased over time. He remembered that the spot was re-pigmenting gradually over the next few months but never completely disappeared. He then noticed that he had some depigmentation and a lot of itching on his right wrist at the base of the thumb. About three to four months after the first spot, this happened. This was followed by whiteness and itching on his left wrist. Both of these areas became lighter in the following months, and the right wrist had the whitest or most depigmented spot. In January 2013, he went to a dermatologist for the first time because both of his wrists were white. The physician diagnosed it as Vitiligo. He was using a local topical corticosteroid cream that had been prescribed to him for these spots.
He probably had a lot of stress due to his job—he changed jobs between July and November 2012—which would have triggered the autoimmune reaction in his body. Around June 2012, he was having some difficulties and stress related to the job.
Physical and Psychological Generals:
He had a moderate appetite and enjoyed spicy, salty food. He occasionally indulged in alcohol consumption. He had less thirst, and the sun made him suffer from headaches.
He worked as a director for a small start-up company, but he had been 14 years into consulting and software technology. He didn't see his job as a stressor because he enjoyed it. With two young children in the house, he felt that his surroundings were always messy; this caused him to experience stress. Although it isn't as bad as what he had seen in the homes of other people, he was a very neat and organized person, so it was stressful for him to see toys all over the floor or things that weren't in their proper places.
Both of his parents had high blood pressure.
Dr. Shah prescribed Hydrocotyle Asiatica 30 along with his research-based medications to the patient.
Follow-Ups:
When the patient reported in May 2013, after taking the medications for four months, he had noticed a slight improvement of about 5%. His vitiligo spots had stabilized, and no new spots had appeared. Hydrocotyle asiatica's strength was increased, and it was recommended to continue the medicines for the next four months.
In October 2013, the patient visited India to personally visit Dr. Shah. After comparing his photos since the beginning of the treatment, his spots were found to be recovered by 50%.
In the next 1 year of treatment, his spots were steady and there were no further progressions found in his Vitiligo. He religiously continued to take the medications.
The patient continued taking the medications because he was afraid that if he stopped taking them, his Vitiligo would worsen. However, he was pleased with the skin improvement that had been achieved with homeopathy. The recovery that was achieved between 2014 and 2016 was approximately 50%, and it was stable.
In March 2017, the patient was informed that 75% of his patches had recovered, and the treatment was continued.
In October 2019, after two years of treatment, he reported that his healing in the patches had improved by 85%. He continued the treatment with patience.
Some cases of Vitiligo are resistant and necessitate long-term treatment; Dr. Shah had always modified the medications and their dosages according to the needs of the patients. Rather than relying on short-term treatments such as steroids or lasers, it is always a good idea to stick with homeopathy, even though it is a longer-term treatment.
Conclusion:
When dealing with difficult diseases such as Vitiligo, more patience is required because the response graph is not smooth but rather has some ups and downs. The goal of homeopathy treatment is internal healing. Homeopathy does not believe in providing temporary relief and does not employ suppressive methods. It aims to treat the disease slowly, gently, and permanently by addressing its source. For 9 years, this patient has been receiving treatment faithfully and has shown signs of improvement.
