Lip Vitiligo Recovered in a 3-year-old Girl, Calming Parents’ Worries.
A little patient on 29th October 2022, a 3-year-old girl (Patient ID: 49644) walked into our Life Force's Bangalore branch with her parents, for the concern of Vitiligo. She has developed white patches on her lips over the past 3 months. The patches had been gradually progressing, causing growing anxiety for the family. The diagnosis of Vitiligo was reconfirmed during her consultation at Life Force, upon wood lamp examination, small to moderate spots were confirmed as Vitiligo. The parents had tried using steroidal creams, including Tacrolimus and Desonide but didn’t find any positive changes, despite weeks of application, so parents had discontinued the external applications. Both her mother and father were employed in Bangalore's IT industry. She was a cheerful, active child and mild by nature. She was expressive with her family but tended to be shy in front of strangers.

Follow-ups:
In her first follow-up in December 2022, her condition remained the same.
Her condition was stable and remained the same by February 22, 2023.
Since there were no signs of pigmentation on April 20, 2023, the medications were revised in accordance with the case.
Upon examination in June 2023, it became clear that the milky white spots on her lips had begun to change colour, becoming dull.
At her subsequent follow-up on August 10, 2023, she displayed mild lip repigmentation.
By October 5, 2023, the spots were still dull and the repigmentation was taking a long time.
By February 11th, 2024, there were no more new vitiligo spots visible, and the re-pigmentation in the existing spots was more stable.
By June 2, 2024, her repigmentation had improved by nearly 80%.
The patient's vitiligo spots on the lips were 90% reversed on November 27, 2024, and they were now very stable.
