No Need for Cetirizine Genetic Allergies Managed with Homeopathy
A 29-year-old male patient came to Life Force Homeopathy on 25th October 2023 with complaints of allergic rhinitis. The presenting symptoms were mainly recurrent episodes of sneezing, runny nose, nose block, itching in ears, lachrymation with redness in eyes, and throat pain, which used to affect his daily activity. The trigger factors were exposure to dust, strong fragrances, changes in weather, and humidity. The patient was on cetirizine tablets, but no major relief was seen.
The patient's father is also a known case of allergic rhinitis and asthma. And the paternal grandmother had bronchitis.
On examination, the nasal turbinates were swollen. Mild congestion was noted in the chest.
Personal details: The patient was born and brought up in Mumbai; his family includes his parents and younger brother, and he has cordial relations with all at home and college. His childhood was happy and supportive. He completed his BE and has now been studying MB Analytics in the UK for the last 5 years. He had attacks of anticipatory anxiety before exams in the past.

Follow-ups :
By 1st December 2023, in the first follow-up itself, the patient started feeling better, up to 40–50%. The intensity and frequency of allergic rhinitis episodes were reduced appreciably. The runny nose, sneezing, and itching in the ear and throat were better. The nose block was also almost entirely relieved. The lachrymation and redness of the eyes also improved. The patient started feeling better. In subsequent follow-ups, the patient showed continued progress.
In a recent follow-up dated 22nd February 2025, the patient mentioned that he recovered about 70–80% and had only one episode of allergic rhinitis in the last 6 months. The triggers, like dust and perfume, which used to bother him initially, were not causing any problems. Also, there was no need to take cetirizine in the last 6 months.
Conclusion: The patient with allergic rhinitis showed significant improvement with individualized homeopathic treatment, eliminating the need for cetirizine.
