Non-surgical Homeopathic approach in case of BPH

Mr.S.G aged 62 years a supervisor at Ulhasnagar municipal co-op was suffering from BEP for about 5 years. He visited our Life Force Homeopathy Thane branch (Patient ID: 53072) with a complaint of urine flow being slow for about 4 months. He had complaints of incomplete sensation after passing the urine. The frequency of urine was 5 to 6 times/day and 2 times at night. He also had complaints of less erectile erection for 1 month. His PSA value was gradually increasing for 5 years. He did not have any complaints of dysuria, dribbling, burning, staining, or interrupted flow.  The surgery was advised in his case. From November of 2023, he was taking Tab Niftas (Nitrofurantoin) 100 mg 1 tab OD, and Tab Silostar (Silodosin) 8mg 1 tab OD.

In the past, he had taken Tab. Urimax 0.5ng 1 tab OD in 2018 and Tab.Rapilif (silodosin) 4 mg 1tab OD in 2022, Tab Evalo 100 1 tab BD.

Apart from his BEP, he was also diabetic and was taking medicines for high Blood pressure. In his family, his father suffered from Prostate Cancer.

- Investigations Summary:

- Date: 14.11.2023

- Ascending Urethrogram: Mild bulbous urethral stricture.

- Date: 14.11.2023

- Ultrasound (Abdomen & Pelvis): Mild Protsatomegaly with significant post-void residual urine.

- PSA Levels: Gradual increase observed over time: 0.91 ng/ml in 2021, 1. 1.35 ng/ml on 22nd October 2023, 2.22 ng/ml on 8th January 2024.

Follow-ups:

In his first follow-up dated 18th February 2024, he reported improvement in the flow of urine with no dribbling. Along with Homeopathic treatment, he continued taking Tab Niftas 100 mg (Nitrofurantoin) once daily and Tab Silostar 8 mg (Silodosin) once daily.

By 2nd April 2024, further improvement was noted in his urine flow and with no sensation of incomplete urination.

On 10th May 2024, he continued to improve; his symptoms were reducing gradually including a reduction in urinary frequency. He did the blood work and his PSA value decreased to 1.70 ng/ml from 2.22 ng/ml. His Ultrasound report showed his prostate was slightly enlarged measuring 4.2 x 3.9 x 3.5 cm and weighed around 31.3 g and there were no signs of stricture.  The urinary bladder was normal, with a pre-void volume of 125 cc and a post-void volume of 10 cc, which was not significant.

In the feedback dated 22nd June 2024 patient informed he experienced significant improvement in urine flow and his symptoms were much better. His PSA level decreased further and the recent date was 1.60 ng/ml dated 7th June 2024. Along with Homeopathic medicines, he continued taking tablets. Silostar 8 mg (Silodosin) once daily.

In his recent feedback dated 3rd August 2024 sustained improvement in his complaints of BEP was observed.

Conclusion:

 

Life Force Homeopathy provided effective treatment in managing benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), with marked improvement in urinary complaints with reduction in patients PSA levels which was previously increasing despite taking the allopathic treatment. The improvements documented in the ultrasound and surgery were avoided in his case.
