Atopic dermatitis (eczema) is a condition that causes dry, itchy, and inflamed skin. A common chronic or recurrent inflammatory skin disease affects 15% to 20% of children and 1% to 3% of adults worldwide.

An eczema patient (PIN: 47365) walked into Life Force Homeopathy’s Paud clinic, in Pune, India for the treatment of his skin condition. He had Eczema for 4 years on bilateral wrists, bilateral dorsum of the hands, symmetrical dark hyperpigmented patch till the wrist, and bilateral wrists extensor surface. He was suffering from redness and mild itching. His eczema patches on the chest were moderate to large. The moderate-sized patches had mild hyperpigmentation with no other symptoms. His condition was stable for the last 4 years. Bleeding on scratching was absent. Oozing and crusting were also absent. No specific triggers were present. He took conventional medicines 4 years back for 3 months. He was currently on Ayurvedic medication for the last 6 months.

He had associated complaints of Balanitis for the last 7 years and those were stable with Ayurvedic treatment. Also, he had constipation complaints for the last 4 years that were stable with Ayurvedic treatment, and now he passes stools daily.

Physical Generals:

He was on a vegetarian diet and had an average appetite. He experienced difficult perspiration and was ambithermal. The patient enjoyed a sound sleep.

Psychological and Family Make-Up:

The patient was in a construction business. He was married and had a son. He was friendly, extroverted, and comfortable among his peers. He was balanced emotionally, happy-go-lucky, concerned about family, and anxious about health.

At Life Force Homeopathy, a detailed case-taking was done. Dr. Rajesh Shah prescribed medication to the patient after studying the case in detail. The blood investigation was done and some deficiency was observed. So, supplements were recommended and certain dietic changes were also advised.

Follow-Ups:

At the first follow-up on 23rd March 2022, it was observed that his relief from redness and itching had improved. No spread of the disease had occurred. The skin pigmentation had faded slightly on bilateral wrists and dorsum of the hand.

At the second follow-up on 19th May 2022, the patient’s relief from the condition was 50% better. All his lesions were stable. He experienced reduced itching, redness, and dryness. His skin pigmentation and health all were better.

At the follow-up on 23rd November 2022, the patient was 70% better. He had no new lesions. The redness, scaling, and itching were reduced in all lesions. He had no complaints anymore.

At the follow-up on the 10th of January 2023, the patient was stable. All his lesions had settled. He had no itching and no new lesions in the last 11 months. His relief from the pigmentation was better. The patient’s skin was 90% healed and the treatment was stopped.

The patient was very happy. Now, he has started treatment for his constipation complaints at Life Force.

Conclusion:
