Relief from Atopic Dermatitis Through Homeopathy
On May 7, 2023, a 30-year-old man named Mr S.M. (Patient ID: 51449) came to Life Force''s Malleswaram clinic to have his skin condition treated. His condition was atopic dermatitis. His hands were extremely red and itchy with scaling, and peeling of skin. He was also very bothered by hyperhidrosis on his palms and soles, the condition where there is excessive perspiration. The stress, the cold season, and contact with soap or detergents increased his dermatitis complaints. He was just using the moisturizer to keep the skin moisturized and had not used any medicines.
Atopic dermatitis (AD), also known as eczema, is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that causes the skin to become itchy, red, dry, and inflamed. It is a common condition, especially in children, though it can affect people of all ages.

Homeopathy is a form of medicine based on the principle of treating like with like, where highly diluted substances are used to stimulate the body’s self-healing mechanisms. In the context of atopic dermatitis (AD), homeopathy aims to address the underlying causes of the condition, such as immune system imbalance, skin inflammation, and individual sensitivities.
The approach to treating Atopic Dermatitis with homeopathy involves addressing both the symptoms and the underlying emotional or psychological factors contributing to the condition. Homeopaths believe that each person is unique, and thus treatment should be tailored to their specific emotional, mental, and physical state.
Follow-ups:
When the patient called for a follow-up on July 11, 2023, the peeling was still present but less severe, and the dryness and itching had improved.
By September 13, 2023, the complaint's level of severity has decreased. The peeling has stopped. There was less itching now.
On November 21, 2023, everything was better overall, the patient's confidence increased, and peeling decreased itching.
Following a series of thorough follow-ups the patient was 80% better by January 15, 2025, and there was no skin peeling on the palms and no redness, itching, or dryness.
Within a short time, the patient began to firmly believe in homeopathy and thanked Dr Shah and the entire team for the successful treatment.
Conclusion:
In homeopathy, the treatment of atopic dermatitis aims to address both the symptoms and the underlying sensitivities that trigger the condition. When anti-histamines are being used to manage the symptoms, homeopathic remedies can be complementary to help reduce the frequency and severity of symptoms, control dry and sensitive skin, and address the root causes of the symptoms without giving any side effects.
