Restoring Mind and Energy in a 30-Year Battle with Chronic Constipation
Our bodies naturally should be full of energy and pain-free, so we can carry out our daily tasks with a relaxed and active mind. However, when we experience digestive issues, both our body and mind are impacted. Our productivity at work is adversely affected. This is the case of Mr J.T., a 57-year-old male from Kalamboli, Navi Mumbai, who began experiencing occasional constipation around 30 years ago. In initial years his constipation was not so frequent and did not interfere with his daily life. Over the years the complaint seemed to be manageable, he followed a proper diet and lifestyle with no major triggers identified for his constipation. As required he took laxatives occasionally which provided temporary relief. Over the decades his constipation became more but wasn't a major concern allowing him to live comfortably, however, in the year 2022, his life took a significant turn when he suffered from a stroke. Post-stroke since a lot of conventional medicines were used for recovery from stroke, those medications played a significant role in aggravating his constipation making it more frequent and severe. He required a lot of straining, and passing stool became increasingly difficult. His stools were hard leading to dissatisfaction. Though he has constipation, he felt the urge to pass stools 3-4 times a day. Each bowel movement left a feeling of incomplete evacuation. He suffered from pain and at times mild bleeding was observed raising concerns.
Acidity symptoms appeared sporadically; adding to his discomfort. His constipation condition began affecting his energy levels and overall productivity. He did try Ayurvedic medicines which offered limited relief. His ability to focus started compromising and he noticed a decline in his quality of life due to persistent discomfort. So he decided to consult Life Force Homeopathy for a holistic solution and in June 2023 he visited our Vashi branch.
He also suffered from high blood pressure and erectile dysfunction. His blood pressure was under control with anti-hypertensive.
Physical generals:
He was non-vegetarian by diet and fond of spicy food. Except for this, there was no specific liking and disliking. His water intake is normal. His other physical generals were normal.
Mental generals:
He holds a senior position in a government department. His family life was impacted by the transferable job, which led to a high level of stress and anxiety. He was a calm man who made an effort to avoid or transfer his stress to other people.
Dr.Shah prescribed ACALYPHA INDICA 30 and necessary guidelines were given regarding diet to follow and also to drink water enough to stay hydrated and prevent constipation.
Follow-ups:
The patient reported that his constipation problem had improved at his first follow-up on July 21, 2023. Both straining and his hard stool were lessened. While the frequency of bowel movements remained constant, the hardness of the stool decreased. There was less pain, itching, and burning. He was feeling better than before. He discontinued Ayurvedic medicines. A new medication was prescribed for him based on his altered symptoms.
His constipation significantly improved following a few months of consistent medication. In October 2023, he did not need to strain because his stool was semisolid. However, his stool was still unsatisfactory. He began kayamchuran to feel content.
Because he was under a lot of stress in November 2023, his stool was a little hard. Additionally, there was gas formation and abdominal bloating, so Dr. Shah adjusted his medication as needed. His symptoms improved in December 2023 as a result of a medication change, he also has started doing yoga and meditation.
Over weeks, he began noticing small but positive changes in his condition.
He responded well to medication in follow-ups in 2024. Although he was under a lot of stress and had irregular eating habits because of family matters, his constipation had improved.
On November 4, 2024, he provided a follow-up and reported that he was not experiencing any constipation. Also, the emotional burden of chronic constipation started lifting, improving his mood. His constipation problem was effectively resolved, and since it has been resolved, it was advised that he discontinue treatment.
Conclusion:
This case demonstrates how well homeopathy works to treat persistent constipation. The individualized homeopathic treatment for long-term conditions helps address underlying causes like stress, poor eating habits, or medication-induced constipation, homeopathic remedies help to improve intestinal motility and stimulate the peristaltic movements of the intestines. An important turning point in his health journey was the notable improvement in his overall quality of life. He discovered how crucial a balanced diet and following a healthy lifestyle are to preserving digestive health.
