This is the case of 4-year-old Master O.B. (L-9277) who reported to the clinic with white spots around the eyes for 9-10 months. He had undergone allopathic treatment, with temporary relief, after the stoppage of which the spots reappeared and spread moderately over the scalp, face, back, abdomen, waist, knees, axilla, legs, chest, ears, groin, and perineum. He had been taking steroids and UVB treatment but with partial relief.
The spread was bilaterally symmetrical (A similar spread on both sides) in the genital area. Graying of hair was also noticed on the scalp for 10-15 days. He had hypersensitive skin wherein application of different oils would lead to rash). All his ailments began after his father left for the U.S.A.
Along with his skin complaints, he also suffered from complaints of chronic dry cough about 3-4 times a year, which used to remain for about 10-12 days. He also suffered from hard stools.
He was an extremely sensitive child. He always kept to himself, was introverted, and could not express his feelings. He was very attached to his father. His mother was very short-tempered, strict, and violent. The patient feared his mother a lot, as she had hit him on some occasions. Whenever his mother used to scold him, it used to frighten him a lot. He loved his younger brother and took good care of him. He was very affectionate and had a caring attitude. He was hyperactive, played a lot, and was extremely restless. He feared darkness.
He did not have a history of any major illnesses in the past. There was no family history of vitiligo. His paternal grandfather suffered from ischemic heart disease and diabetes. His paternal grandmother suffered from myocardial infarction and diabetes. His maternal grandmother suffered from hypertension.
His case history was studied in detail, based on which he was prescribed Phosphorus 200 and Carcinosin 200 for his complaints. After about a month of individualized homeopathic treatment, his vitiligo below the eyes was much better. Slight repigmentation had occurred on the back. Few spots on the forehead and hands started fading.
After three months of treatment, the vitiligo patches on the face, dorsum of the palm, right upper arm, right wrist, chest, back, waist, feet, knee joints, elbows, and scalp faded off. Graying of hair had also been arrested largely. No new spots have been noticed.
